Final topic 5 Module Breakthroughs.

I sugguest everybody knows that 21 century is the century of  Breakthroughs! Our world doesn't stop at one place, it is developing! Almost every day totally new ideas appear in people's heads. There appear more and more new discoveries and projects, which can change our world and minds!

Do you know how much information we still don't know about our planet ? For example the undersea world. There is one woman who plunges into the oceans depths and discoveres a diverse undersea world. Her name is Jill Heinerth. She is the first womam to cave dive in the Antarctic, and she has explored B-15, the largest iceberg on the planet. Moreover, Jill Heinerth doesn't want to stop on these discoveries! She plans to have more new expeditions. According to such plans, she needs new devices and tehcnologies, such as a rebreather, a 3D mapping device and so on.
Fortunately, science is developing rapidly! Something that used to be a fantasy just a few years ago, becomes a reality! For example scientists created a microscopic robot that can crowl along molecules of DNA. Robots, called nano-spiders are made of DNA molecules also. They can make decisions and move automatically.
Cancer is the plague of the 21 century it kills milllions of people every year. No wander, that scientists are working on a method for curing cancer. And they have developed a nanoparticle that can deliver drugs to tumours without destroying the surrounding tissue. This discovery has given the hope to millions of people.

Breakthroughs are not only for our entertainment, they also change the quality of our lives and struggle for our health.

My story

It was risky, but I knew I wanted to try it... The diving , discovering a diverse undersea world has always been my big dream. It turned out that one day, I finally decided to do it! I had an amazing opportunity to become a part of  Jill Heinerth's expedition.

Firstly I had a  month of training for my future adventure. Also Jill Heinerth was teaching me how to struggle with my fear. Moreover she gave multimedia presentations on what she learnt. Then our trip was started.
After sailing for twelve days in rough seas our team finally arrived at B-15. As the cave opened out, I discovered a diverse undersea world. Furthermore I found a dazzling world of sea stars and other curios creatures. Unfortunately, the threat of disaster was always there. On our final dive we were trapped by strong currents and only managed to escape by finding small handholds in the ice wall and pulling ourselves along. Speaking of my feelings in that moment, I can say that it was the most dangerous moment in my life!

Summing it up, I believe that it was my life changing experience. I have embraced my fear and I can say : If you don't chase fear, than you'll be running away from it for the rest of your life! I am still full of incredible emotions!
